I have known and have photographed this family forever.
We have done sessions in a variety of locations and seasons. But we had never done photos in the winter. When Wendy reached out to me to book her session for the year, she had one request– that we wait until there was snow on the ground.
Since we had beach and park and leaves photos, she thought it would be great to wait it out until the snow arrived.
Snow fell. School was closed. We waited for the roads to be plowed and the snow to stop falling. They came over on their lunch break from work and we went into the woods across the street from my house. So. Much. Fun.
It was cold and the snow was as high as the top of our boots.
I always have a lot of laughs with this family, but this one was particularly fun with the challenge of walking, posing, and photographing in fresh snow.
I love photos at all time of year, but I wish more people would consider the winter as the perfect backdrop for family portraits.
