Here’s a Cara Parker Life Lesson (I do these all the time with my fifth graders).

I listed a trunk on facebook marketplace.

I listed it at $50, knowing that if the right person came along, I was willing to negotiate down to 40.  Within a few minutes, someone messaged me.

Person:  I want the trunk.

Me:  Great!  Can you come by today to pick it up?

Person:  I’ll take it, but only for thirty dollars.

Me (knowing that I was willing to negotiate down to $40):  I’ll meet you in the middle. How about $40?

Person:  Are you kidding me? I want it for $30.  I mean, I am going to have to pay GAS money to get there.  Other people are selling trunks for way less.  Thirty, or you don’t get my business.

Me:  Okay.  Thanks for inquiring.
